Calibration
All GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech monitoring instruments are manufactured with extraordinary precision and pride – and professionally calibrated for maximum reliability and accuracy.
GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech service centers provide expert calibration and repair for all our monitoring instrumentation – with the quickest turnaround times on the market. All services are performed by knowledgeable individuals with extensive experience in the electronics industry. Our emphasis on high quality ensures product longevity and full functionality of the equipment.
Calibration is essential to the life span of the seismic monitor and ensures the reliability and accuracy of the seismograph’s measurements. Our calibration process consists of inputting specific parameters from an external reference source, checking the instrument’s response to those inputs, and making any necessary corrections to the seismograph to match the parameters of the reference source. Every instrument calibrated at our facilities is issued a Calibration Certificate, providing documented evidence that the seismic monitor was professionally calibrated.
Repairs
GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech repairs – on time, on call and on the spot – get your equipment back in working order and on the job fast.
GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech service centers repair and calibrate all of our instrumentation, whether new or old. SSU 2000DK and 3000 series instruments are repaired and checked for accuracy at our Warrendale service center. Everlert and MultiSeis seismographs are repaired and checked for accuracy at our Louisville service center.
Repairs include geophone cable and microphone cable changes. Transducer elements are tested and replaced as necessary. Microphone elements on all units are pressure checked for correct diaphragm operation and calibrated. We manufacture and maintain all accessories for your unit, from simple extension cables to sophisticated amplifiers.
We check each unit’s electronic circuitry and compare it to reference levels. Manufacturer specifications are used in each calibration along with shake tables for accuracy. We ensure shake table accuracy with equipment outside calibrated to NIST and with internal laser inferometer use. The two procedures ensure the highest accuracy of our test equipment and your seismograph. Our evaluations far exceed those of our competitors’ equipment. The pride we take in manufacturing and repairing your unit means that the records you make will be technically stable.
